Associated Press CEO in DPRK

Thomas Curley, CEO of the news agency Associated Press has recently visited the DPRK, though a preliminary google search only came up with Asian sources for this piece of news: South Korean Yonhap News and China’s Xinhua or People’s Daily.

AP Television News, the international video division of AP, opened a full-time office in Pyongyang in 2006, making it the first Western news organization to establish a permanent presence in North Korea. The Pyongyang office of APTN currently provides only video images.

There are also reports that Columbia U professor Charles Armstrong will visit North Korea this June (8-18). If you have any further information on this planned visit – please Drop us a line.

Thanks to Sinologistical Violoncellist and history professor Adam Carthcart for leads on this info.
